Leo couldn't have lived?!

People often criticize the ending of "Titanic", because the plank that KATE WINSLET survives on could have EASILY fit both her and LEONARDO DICAPRIO . . . meaning his character didn't have to die.  But director JAMES CAMERON says that even though they could have both fit, the plank wouldn't have held them both.  Thus, there was no getting around the fact that one of them had to die.
