JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - A 52-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of her longtime fiancée.

Authorities say Mary Lewis shot and killed Arthur Lee Patterson in Jackson back in June 2007.

Police say the two were engaged in a heated argument at the time of the shooting.

WLBT TV reports (http://bit.ly/VT3d1h ) Lewis pleaded guilty Thursday right before closing arguments after a three day trial in Hinds County Circuit Court.

She received the maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
