MERIDIAN, Miss. (AP) - A former advertising director of the Joplin Globe in Missouri is the new publisher of The Meridian Star.
Vicksburg native Tim Holder began his new job as publisher Monday, saying he wants to provide more community news (http://bit.ly/Su8vQB).
The Meridian Star is owned by Community Newspaper Holdings Inc. of Montgomery, Ala.
Since 1995, Holder has worked for newspapers in Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia and Missouri. He spent the past six years in Joplin.
Crystal Dupré, who had been publisher of The Meridian Star for the past six years, took a job in September as publisher of The Eagle in Bryan/College Station, Texas.
