JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Jackson police are investigating the beating death of an unidentified man.

Officer Colendula Green tells WLBT TV (http://bit.ly/TXHmZk ) the victim's body was found on the side of a road shortly after 7 a.m. Sunday.

Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham Stewart said the victim suffered blunt force trauma to the head and other injuries to the body.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday.
