OLIVE BRANCH, Miss. (AP) - Olive Branch officials are examining whether to increase park fees for those who wish to rent facilities for picnics, family reunions and other events.
The Commercial Appeal reports (http://bit.ly/Ru4Txp ) officials discovered the city's fees were much lower than surrounding cities, including Southaven, Hernando, Collierville and Germantown.
The Board of Aldermen is expected to review the proposal at its Tuesday meeting.
City Park pavilions, for example, rent for $35. The proposal would increase the fee to $60 for residents and to $120 for nonresidents. A corporate rate also would be established, $200.
By comparison, Southaven lists its Greenbrook Lake Park pavilion rental fee at $100 on its website.
