Police charge Gulfport man in fatal stabbing

GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - A 34-year-old Gulfport man has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of another man.

Police tell The Sun Herald (http://bit.ly/UBNMrP ) William Cameron Sumrall is being held at the Harrison County jail on a $1 million bond by Justice Court Judge Brandon Ladner.

Deputies responded to a call around 3 a.m. Sunday and found 23-year-old Ricardo Zayas in the driver's seat of a vehicle.

Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove says Zayas was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say an investigation determined that Zayas and Sumrall had an altercation in a different location from where the victim was found. Zayas drove to his girlfriend's home before he died.
