On Thursday, September 27, 2012 at approximately 11:00 p.m., MPD's Communications Bureau was contacted by a member of Mississippi Highway Patrol concerning an off-duty MPD Officer.
According to Mississippi Highway Patrol, Off-duty officer, 46-year-old Adrian Brown, had been stopped by MHP while traveling northbound in the southbound lane of Interstate-55 near mile marker 122 which is in Madison, Mississippi. Brown was suspected of D.U.I. and refused to submit to a DUI test. Brown was subsequently charged with driving on the wrong side of the road, DUI, and DUI Refusal.

Brown is currently assigned to Airways Station and has been relieved of duty, with pay, pending the outcome of the investigation. Brown has been employed with the Memphis Police Department since August 10, 1998.
