MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - A 17-year-old boy charged with fatally stabbing his high school principal is set to appear before a judge.
Eduardo Marmolejo has a scheduled court appearance Thursday. The teen has pleaded not guilty to adult first-degree murder charges in the fatal stabbing of 49-year-old Suzette York in August 2011. She was Marmolejo's principal at the private Memphis Junior Academy.
York's body was found in a pool of blood in a classroom on the third day of school. An autopsy showed she had cuts to her head and neck.
A judge has ordered a psychological evaluation for Marmolejo. The teen's lawyer has said that Marmolejo does not understand the process he is facing.
