An off-duty Memphis police officer has been relieved of duty with pay pending an investigation after he allegedly struck an on-duty police officer who was in a squad car.
The alleged incident involving Officer Brandon Woodson took place just after 1 a.m. on Sept. 30 in the parking lot at Airways Station.
The 23-year-old was driving on a suspended license, a Memphis Police Department spokesperson said.
Only minor damage was reported to both vehicles in the collision.
Officer Woodson, who is assigned to the Airways Station, was issued a misdemeanor citation for Driving While License Suspended. He has been associated with Memphis police since April 12, 2010.
