A double-kidnapping was foiled in north Memphis on Monday afternoon thanks to two brave sisters.
A man with a knife approached the girls on their way home from school near Evergreen and Merchant, a Memphis police spokesperson said.
The girls told police the man, identified as 36-year-old Leviticus Johnson, forced them into a nearby field. He then told one of the girls, "I am going to see if you are a boy or a girl," and began unzipping her pants.
But she screamed and both girls ran off to safety,
Johnson was later arrested after a witness told police who he thought the man was. He was charged with sexual battery and kidnapping.
