MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Pinnacle Airlines is set to close its maintenance hangar in Memphis and in early 2013, adding additional uncertainty about the airlines staying in the Bluff City.

FOX13 News has also learned that 50 Pinnacle employees will also be packing their bags for the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport on the Ohio-Kentucky state line.

Pinnacle Airlines opened a new aircraft maintenance station in metro Cincinnati a few weeks ago. Staffing is made up of a combination of new and existing positions including mechanics, store clerks, supervisors and management.

Some of the vacancies will be offered to the 50 employees in Memphis, unless they want to move to another Pinnacle location.

Obviously, this is not welcomed news to Memphis city and Shelby County leaders who want to keep the bankrupt airline in Memphis. City and county officials have given the airline generous tax breaks to entice it to move into downtown.
