DeSoto Co. developer's license suspended

SOUTHAVE, Miss. (AP) - The Mississippi Real Estate Commission has suspended DeSoto County developer Chuck Roberts' broker's license for a year after finding he violated state real estate laws during a land deal with the city of Southaven.

The Commercial Appeal reports (http://bit.ly/TDHlbQ ) the commission entered into an agreement with Roberts Thursday.

The commission said in documents released Thursday that it launched the investigation into Roberts after media reports surfaced about the land deal his company, RH Holdings, was involved in with Southaven.

Earlier this year, the newspaper reported that Roberts pocketed $45,000 for a single day's work on the land deal, in which Southaven paid RH Holdings $370,000 on March 24, 2010, for 19.96 acres of vacant land.
