CROSSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A police shooting on the Cumberland Plateau has left a suspect dead and an officer wounded.

WATE-TV (http://bit.ly/QGkCHI ) in Knoxville reported the incident occurred Sunday night in Cumberland County. It involved a sheriff's deputy and a person who confronted him.

The suspect was killed and the deputy received what were described as a non-life threatening wound. The officer was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation will review the incident.
