MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - The Shelby County Sheriff's Office says medical examiners have identified a body found in the Loosahatchie (loo-suh-HAT'-chee) River.
Authorities said Thursday night the remains were those of 31-year-old Karen Denise Thomas.
Deputies were called to a bridge a week ago where someone spotted a body floating face-down in the stream.
Sheriff's spokesman Chip Washington says deputies are investigating the case with the Memphis Police Department. There were no immediate arrests.
