Justice Kagan to deliver UT law school lecture

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan is to deliver a speech to the University of Tennessee College of Law in Knoxville.

Kagan is to present the annual Rose Lecture on Friday. A university press release said the program will be formatted as a conversation between the justice and the law school dean, Doug Blaze.

Law school students, faculty and alumni as well as federal, state and local judges are invited to attend.

Kagan was named to the Supreme Court in 2010 by President Barack Obama. She earned her law degree at Harvard University and was dean of the law school there. She formerly was solicitor general of the United States.
