VONORE, Tenn. (AP) - The University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture is hosting two Biomass Field Day events.
On Wednesday, visitors to the Color Wheel Farm in Vonore can learn about the production of switchgrass, sorghum, miscanthus and woody biomass as energy crops. The program begins at 8:00 a.m. and includes technical presentations, farmer testimonials and on-site field equipment demonstrations.
Thursday's schedule includes an open house at the Genera Energy Biomass Innovation Park and a second open house at the DuPont demonstration biorefinery. The event begins at 9:00 a.m. and includes tours as well as a discussion of the nation's energy policy.
