One by one friends gave witness to her good life. She did things the right way, loved her family, committed to her church and made her money the honest way as a long time postal worker.
James Holmes and Bishardo Higgs, both 19, have been charged in the shooting with trying to take Luster's hard earned money by any means available.
Police say a gun was put in the window while she was at an east Memphis ATM when she tried to drive off. Ms. Luster was shot twice and as she attempted to flee in her car, she crashed into a utility pole. Some time later she died from her wounds at The MED.
Holmes was charged with first degree murder, criminal attempt felony to wit first degree murder, criminal attempt felony to wit of carjacking, and employment of a firearm. Higgs has been charged with criminal attempt felony to wit especially aggravated robbery.
Holmes and Biggs were arraigned Oct. 18. in court. Holmes appeared via video and no bond was set. Biggs appeared before a judge in person and had a $500,000 bond set. Both suspects are due back in court Nov. 1.
A $10,000 reward was offered by the bank where Ms. Luster was banking at the time of her untimely death. Through several tips into Memphis police, the reward money will be given to those who provided key tips that assisted in the arrest of the two suspects.
