HERNANDO, Miss. (AP) - The DeSoto County Board of Education has agreed to advertise for bids to build a performing arts center at Olive Branch High that would be almost identical to the one built at DeSoto Central High.
The Commercial Appeal reports (http://bit.ly/RRXAxr ) the auditorium likely will seat about 300 and be about 11,000 square feet. In May, school officials celebrated the opening of the DeSoto Central High PAC.
Also on Monday, the board approved a final payment for the $1.38 million renovation to Oak Grove Central Elementary. Workers have finished installing a new heating and air conditioning system and completed adding new administrative offices, conference room, work area and counselor's office. The final payment will be $395 less than what school officials had expected.
