SOUTHAVEN, Miss. (FOX13) -

Southaven Alderman Ricky Jobes, who was arrested Oct. 19 for DUI and reckless driving in DeSoto County, is facing much more than fines and a night or two in jail.

Friday night's arrest near Church and I-55 was not the first for Alderman Jobes, who is expected to make his first appearance in Southaven Municipal Court at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

He could be facing up to 48 hours in jail, a $1,000 fine, and his drivers license will be suspended for 90 days for refusing the breathalyzer test.

If Alderman Jobes is found guilty, his drivers license could be suspended longer. A letter from the state of Mississippi is en route to make him aware of the fact that his license has been suspended.

This is not Jobes first traffic charge. He was charged with DUI during a 2010 traffic stop and that charge was ultimately reduced to reckless driving because of a technicality.

The clerk at Southaven Municipal Court says Jobes will more than likely not appear in court Wednesday. Instead, his attorney will likely appear and ask for a continuance and it will go to trial.

Mayor Greg Davis says the city has no comment and this is a personal matter for Alderman Jobes.

He is out of jail on a $950 bond.
