GREENVILLE, Miss. (AP) - The cause of a weekend fire in Greenville that left a 2-year-old boy dead remains under investigation.
Fire Chief Lee Gordon tells the Delta Democrat Times (http://bit.ly/VAXcV7 ) that the state fire marshal's office is assisting in the investigation into Sunday's fire.
Gordon says about 11 people were in the house at the time of the fire, but only the little boy was hurt. He says the child was transported to Delta Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
The child's name has not been released.
Gordon says the house as a total loss. He says when the first engine got on the scene, the house already had flames coming out of the roof.
