Hurley to be sentenced Dec. 13 for DUI fatality

PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - A Hurley, Miss., man has pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated when he struck and killed a motorcyclist in 2008.

Rene C. Levario entered the plea Monday to one count of felony DUI causing death. Levario will remain free on bond until his sentencing on Dec. 13 in Jackson County Circuit Court.

Authorities say Gary E. Coulliette of Pensacola, Fla., was on his way home on a motorcycle after gambling with a friend at a casino when he was killed. The incident happened on July 26, 2008 on Interstate 10.

Assistant District Attorney Kathlyn Van Buskirk says Levario's blood-alcohol content at the time of the crash was 0.17%. In Mississippi, anyone over the age of 21 who registers 0.08% or higher is considered legally impaired.
