BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - The Harrison County Sheriff's Office is now using the InterAct Public Safety Cloud, an Internet-based information-sharing network.
Sheriff Melvin Brisolara tells The Sun Herald (http://bit.ly/Q5W6nr ) the technology will help officers access and share critical information with each other and with agencies in other jurisdictions.
Brisolara says access to critical data from laptop computers can help them access real-time information to help solve crimes and make arrests.
1 of the data-sharing features allows dispatchers to find the officer closest to an incident for quicker response.
InterAct also provides apps officers can use on their smartphones.
