MENDENHALL, Miss. (AP) - Authorities are trying to determine why a Simpson County man's vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a tree.
WLBT TV reports (http://bit.ly/Ttn6dB ) the fatal accident happened around 1:30 a.m. Sunday on Highway 28 south of Mendenhall.
Mississippi Highway Patrol Corporal Odis Easterling identified the victim as 20-year-old Charvis Coleman of Pinola.
Investigators say Coleman's car was traveling east near the Strong River when he ran off the road and collided into some trees.
Easterling says Coleman was wearing his seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
