Extension service offering tax preparation classes

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Farmers, small business owners and others can take 1 of a series of tax preparation classes being offered by the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture.

The classes begin this week in Fort Smith and continue in different cities across the state into December.

The registration fee for the 2-day classes is $220 per person, except for a session in Batesville that one includes lunch and costs $235.

Classes are from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days and will cover small business and farm tax issues. Topics to be covered include retirement, individual tax issues, small business, divorce, succession planning, health care, information reporting, agriculture, ethics, S corporations, and other areas.
