Arkansas polls now open for general election

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Polls across Arkansas are now open for voting.

Polls opened at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday and remain open until 7:30 p.m.

Voters will be casting ballots for president, in races in each of the state's four congressional districts and in state House and Senate races with Republicans hoping to take control of the Legislature for the first time since Reconstruction.

Voters are also deciding a proposal that would allow certain medical patients buy marijuana for medical purposes. If approved - Arkansas would become the first southern state to legalize medical marijuana.
