Man accused of stealing golf cart

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (AP) - An Ocean Springs man has been charged with grand larceny after authorities say he stole a golf cart.

Sheriff Mike Byrd tells The Mississippi Press (http://bit.ly/SSH9EM ) 24-year-old Mitchell Roy Lang was arrested after a Vancleave man's niece saw him on the golf cart. Byrd says she recognized her uncle's golf cart and stopped him.

The sheriff says Lang told investigators that he was drinking Friday night and woke up in the victim's yard. That's when he saw the golf cart with the key in it. Since he didn't know where he was, Lang told authorities, he took the golf cart to look for a store.

Lang remains at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center with bail set at $1,000.

It was unclear whether Lang has an attorney.
