UPDATE: Thaddeus Matthews has posted bond and has been released.
Controversial Internet talk show host Thaddeus Matthews was arrested by Memphis police Wednesday evening on charges after he posted an image of child pornography on his Facebook social media site.
Police charged Matthews with Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, Aggravated Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and Especially Aggravated Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.
In a media release to FOX13 News, Memphis police said they received a walk-in complaint Nov. 9 from a concerned citizen who advised that she discovered a disturbing image on Facebook of a child performing a sexual act.
Though it wasn't determined that the actual posting was generated from someone in Memphis, Internet Crimes Against Children Unit (ICAC) detectives pursued all possible leads. Police found that this same image was also posted Nov. 13 on Matthews' Facebook page.
When contacted, Matthews told police he needed to report to ICAC for a follow-up investigation into the allegations of this posting.
ICAC continues to further investigate this incident and is also attempting to discover the orientation of the original photo. At this time, investigators believe that through other investigative leads, more charges are to follow.
