A homeowner on Cooper Valley in Memphis reportedly shot at three unknown men with a handgun and killed one who walked into his home late Friday morning in an apparent burglary, police said.

Initially police said the victim who was shot by the homeowner was killed, but corrected and said the shooting victim was transported to The MED and is in critical condition. The victim, a 16-year-old male, died at the hospital.

One of the suspects was apprehended, police said. A third suspect fled the neighborhood but was apprehended soon after.

One of the suspects arrested is 20-year-old Cory Burford. The other suspect is a 14-year-old.

The incident remains under investigation.
