Friday was a very special day in the life of Ms. Vera Young, a very sassy Memphian.

She turned 104 years young.

Ms. Young, who is an attorney, graduated from Manassas High School and Lemoyne Owen College. From there she went on to the Howard University School of Law.

while she was at LeMoyne Owen, Ms. Young founded the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority chapter.
