MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Police are on the lookout for drunk drivers this holiday week.

Shelby and Fayette County law enforcement officials announced they'll be enforcing the state's new "no refusal" DUI law.

This means if you are pulled over under suspicion of driving drunk, you have to submit to a blood alcohol test, and if you don't officers will get a warrant for the test.

Prosecutors and judges will be standing by to get those warrants issued.

Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security Commissioner Bill Gibbons says that once people understand the law they'll be less likely to drive under the influence.

Statewide numbers in Tennessee show drunk driving deaths are up about 2 percent this year over this time last year.
