Hi-Tone's last days of operation will take place in February 2013, the music venue said in a tweet.
According to its online event calendar, their last scheduled local act will be the Old 97s on Feb. 19, 2013. It is unclear if that is the last day the music venue will close as its weekly scheduled promotions run through Feb. 26, 2013.
The anchor of Memphis' midtown music scene has been hosting local and national acts for the last 15 years on Polar Avenue in the shadow of Overton Park.
Goner Records held its annual music festival at the Hi-Tone.
"Our festivals have been fantastic," said Eric Fridl, Goner Records. "I played in bands that played there. The crowds have always been great and the place really took good care of us."
Hi-Tone's owner says he'll continue to promote concerts at different venues around Memphis.
