The new parking garage at memphis international airport is causing mixed emotions.

The seven-level building combines more than seven thousand public parking spaces with rental car pickup and return, all within walking distance of the terminal.

Airport leaders see the new facility co-existing with off-airport lots while offering convenient and affordable parking options.

Criticism aimed at the 122-million dollar structure comes from the cost, the size, and the fact that fewer people are flying in and out of memphis as Delta Airlines continues to overwhelm air travelers with outrageous air fares and a drastically shrinking flight schedule.

The center is scheduled to be fully operational in February 2013.
