Classic East Memphis retail store Gift and Art Shop is closing its doors for good after 55 years in business.

Gift and Art is known for its crystal and good china and has been a favorite registry of Memphis brides for years.

In an e-mail to its regulars, the owner wrote "it is now time for me to move into another chapter of my life and enjoy time with my family."

Everything in the story is now 40 percent off or more.
