HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - Hattiesburg authorities are still investigating a mobile home fire that claimed the life of a man.
Deputy Forrest County Coroner Jonathan Nobles tells The Hattiesburg American (http://hatne.ws/WaxqGM ) the victim's name has not been released.
Nobles says while the victim sustained burns, the cause of death was likely smoke inhalation. An autopsy is planned at the State Crime Lab in Jackson.
Fire Department Lt. Nick Hanetho said firefighters received the call about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, and by the time fire trucks arrived, it was already too late to save the victim.
Hanetho said the internal attack on the mobile home left two firefighters with minor injuries from heat. Another man who was visiting the victim escaped the fire.
