HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - Hattiesburg police spokesman says officers responded to a call of shots fired at an apartment complex and found one person inside an apartment with an apparent gunshot wound.
Lt. Jon Traxler tells The Hattiesburg American (http://hatne.ws/TY0BCp) about an hour after the initial 911 call at 7p.m. Sunday, 19-year-old Wesley Owens was pronounced dead in a Forrest General Hospital.
Forrest County Coroner Butch Benedict said it appears Owens died from what looked to be at least one gunshot wound to the chest. An autopsy is scheduled at the State Crime Lab in Jackson.
Traxler said no suspects are in custody and no other information is available.
