After winning their fist state football title in 30 years, MaxPreps.com selected the Whitehaven High School football program as one of the 50 best in the nation.

On Friday MaxPreps.com, along with the Tennessee Army National Guard, presented the undefeated 15-0 Tigers football program with a trophy during its stop in Memphis on its "8th Annual MaxPreps Football Tour of Champions Presented by the Army National Guard."

Staff Sergeant Paul Gilbert presented the special trophy to Coach Rodney Saulsberry.

The "Tour of Champions" honor is reserved for only 50 of the best high school football programs in the nation.

The Tigers football program earned the MaxPreps honor after being nationally ranked. The team also charged through the regular season and state playoffs undefeated, capping their state title march with a 36-35 win over Maryville on Dec. 1.
