JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Another 101 Mississippi teachers have achieved certification in 2012 from a national teaching organization.
The Clarion-Ledger reports (http://on.thec-l.com/WI7Yc9 ) that Mississippi now has 3,420 National Board Certified teachers.
The number of new National Board Certified teachers grew by 3.04% last year.
Mississippi school districts with the highest total number of National Board Certified teachers are Rankin County (163), Jackson (117), Tupelo (104), Desoto County (103) and Madison County (99).
Earning the certification comes with a $6,000 stipend annually for 10 years.
