A teen was reportedly shot one block from Hamilton High School in South Memphis Tuesday evening, a Memphis Police spokeswoman said.

The teen, approximately 18, was shot on Pillow Street and East Person Avenue shortly before 7 p.m.

The allegedly gunman ran northbound toward the high school, where a basketball was taking place.

The victim was transported to The MED in critical condition, police said.

The suspect responsible is known but no one is in custody at this time.

The shooting remains under investigation.
