Inmate allegedly threatening residents

NATCHEZ, Miss. (AP) - The Adams County Sheriff's Office has notified officials at the Bolivar Correctional Facility that an inmate there was allegedly making threatening phone calls to residents in Adams County from prison.

Deputies tell The Natchez Democrat (http://bit.ly/Xp2QMs ) the sheriff's office received an anonymous letter stating that a residence in the LaGrange area had been receiving phone calls that could be construed as threatening from 27-year-old Cornelius Baldwin of Natchez.

Officials say the calls were apparently made from a cellphone smuggled into the correctional institute.

Baldwin was sentenced to three years in prison for cruelty to animals after he pleaded guilty to dogfighting earlier this year.
