Sleet predicted across long band of Ky.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Winter weather is expected to affect a long, narrow band of central and eastern Kentucky.

A winter weather advisory has been posted, beginning at 5 p.m. EST Tuesday and lasting until 5 a.m. Wednesday.

The National Weather Service office in Louisville said the affected area stretches from just east of Hopkinsville, northeastward through Elizabethtown, Lexington and Morehead.

Forecasters expect 1 to 2 inches of sleet generally - perhaps up to 4 inches in the Danville and Harrodsburg areas.

Light precipitation will begin across the advisory area Tuesday afternoon and is expected to intensify Tuesday evening.

Driving could become dangerous.
