OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - A judge has set a March 4 trial for an Alabama man charged in the robberies of 4 north Mississippi banks. Federal prosecutors say 35-year-old Brian Perry Jones of Toney, Ala., robbed two banks in Tupelo and one each in Booneville and Iuka during a period from August to November of 2012.
MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. (AP) - Officials in Muscle Shoals have upheld the firing of a police officer who was terminated after fatally shooting a deer while on duty. Former Muscle Shoals Police Officer Greg Scoggins appealed the firing, but the Civil Service board voted yesterday to uphold it.
