For generations of Mid-Southerners veteran Channel 13 anchor Ed Craig was a beacon of trust.

It is a sad day for the FOX13 News family to report the passing of Mr. Craig. He died at his daughter's Bartlett home early Monday morning. He was 80 years old. 

Mr. Craig suffered complications from COPD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).  He was a veteran news anchor, anchoring the news here at Channel 13 for much of the 1970s and 1980s.  He got his start in radio in the late 1950s. 

Ed grew up in the Memphis area and was married to Bonnie Craig for almost 50 years.  She passed away in 2005, after a battle with breast cancer.

Mr. Craig leaves behind his four daughters and numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Visitation for Ed is set for Wednesday from 5-9 p.m. at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home.  His funeral is set for Thursday, also, at the funeral home but the time has not been determined.
