A major storm is looming for the Mid-South tonight, and now's a good time to start thinking about it. 

First of all, let's talk about what we'll be seeing.  Already, the region is under a Wind Advisory through early Wednesday morning.  That means will be getting steady winds of 25-30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.  You may want to go ahead and pull in anything you don't want to chase down the street-garbage cans, outside umbrellas, the dogs and kids. 

Rain chances will likely begin in the evening hours around 8 or 9 pm, but we can't rule out some late afternoon showers either. 

The bulk of the action comes after 10 pm.  It will be moving through Arkansas first.  The entire Mid-South is under a moderate risk for severe weather.  We will see heavy rain(around 1"-2"), thunderstorms, and strong winds.  The thunderstorms have the potential to spark tornadoes area wide, as well.

I encourage you to have a plan of action if tornadoes do develop.  If you do not have an underground shelter, moving to the lowest level of your home is the safest place.  Stay away from windows, and go to an interior room or hallway.  If caught outside or in an automobile lie flat in a ditch or nearby depression.  Additionally, mobile homes offer little protection, and should be abandoned.
