A coordinated effort with Memphis police and Shelby County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Apprehension Team located and apprehended Bryant Williamson on Wednesday, the suspect who fatally shot a woman in a Frayser driveway.
Williamson, 24, was arrested in the 3500 block of Eastline in North Memphis, police said. He had active warrants for First Degree Murder, Employment of a Firearm and Criminal Attempt Felony to wit First Degree Murder in relation to the Jan. 11 homicide of a 62-year-old woman in Frayser.
Diane Ward, who was unloading groceries from her car at 2163 Burnham Cove, was hit by a stray bullet. First responders found Ms. Ward laying on the driveway next to her car.
The suspect's motive for killing Ms. Ward is unclear.
Williamson was booked into the Shelby County jail. His first court appearance is pending.
