Memphis police are searching for a man with approximately 14 warrants after they found him Sunday afternoon at a home on Perkins and Janice Circle, officers say.

The supervisor at the scene says Memphis police received a call about a suspicious vehicle, where they observed James Wells, 21. MPD officers say he is wanted for aggravated assault stemming from his attempt to run over a police officer.

Police say Wells locked himself inside the Janice Circle residence and escaped out the back.

Wells is a 5'10" black male weighing 175 pounds and was last seen wearing a white shirt with dark pants, according to MPD. Anyone with information about Wells' whereabouts is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH.
