Representatives from the Ku Klux Klan showed their disappointment in the Memphis City Council of their recent decision to rename three parks with references to the Civil War.

Over the weekend each member of council received a two-paragraph letter from the KKK stating their displeasure in council to drop some Civil War references from three Memphis parks.

The letter was signed by the Imperial Kaltrop of the King Kleagle K-Duo Realm of Arkansas Traditionalist American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. While the two-paragraph letter made no direct threats of violence, it did have an aggressive tone saying that the council was only bowing to the will of local activist Kenneth Van Buren, even quoting  President Abraham Lincoln from 1858.
 
By the end of the letter, it was made clear that this is not an issue the KKK is going to let lie.

It said in part, "Our history is what it is, and trying to rewrite it will not change the past. Remember you drew the line in the sand and this is but the beginning of the battle you have chosen."

FOX13 News spoke with the Grand Cyclops of the local chapter of KKK on Monday and he said that while he didn't take part in the letter writing campaign, he is aware of the letter and supports its intent.
