Since a disputed State Senate loss to Ophelia Ford in 2005, Shelby County Commissioner Terry Roland has been a constant in local politics.

Since 2010, he been a passionate, controversial and confrontational member of the county commission. He's challenged fellow commissioners to fist fights.

Nearing the end of his first term, Commissioner Roland recently sat down with FOX13 Good Morning Memphis anchor Ernie Freeman saying, among other things, that he will always speak his mind and stand up for his beliefs - even if it costs him political points.
