ABERDEEN, Miss. (AP) - An October sentencing date has been set for man convicted of failing to register as a sex offender.

Tony Lashawn Nelson pleaded guilty in May to failing to register. His sentencing is Oct. 17 in U.S. District Court in Aberdeen.

Nelson, 36, was convicted of sexual battery in 1995. He's being held in the Lafayette County Jail.
