Tommy Hart gets Dec. 10 trial date

HERNANDO, Miss. (AP) - A trial date of Dec. 10 has been scheduled for a Tennessee man for allegedly embezzling prize money from bowling leagues.

The Commercial Appeal reports (http://bit.ly/PZaI4h) that 70-year-old Tommy Hart of Collierville, Tenn., was indicted by a DeSoto County grand jury on a charge that he embezzled nearly $47,000 in prize money from bowling leagues at his Cotton Bowl Lanes Bowling Center on U.S. Highway 51 in Southaven.

The indictment accuses Hart of embezzling $46,946.27 between Aug. 2, 2011, and Dec. 30, 2011. The indictment says the money was delivered to Hart on a contract of trust and that he was to deliver or return the money.

Hart has pleaded not guilty. Hart remains free on a $50,000 bond he posted after his May 4 arrest.
