LAUREL, Miss. (AP) - A Jones County man is being held on $150,000 bond after being charged in the death of Daniel Barlow.

Sheriff Department Sgt. John Smith says 59-year-old Randy Williams has been charged with murder. Smith says the 58-year-old Barlow was beaten to death.

Smith says Barlow was renting a house from Williams and the two apparently got into a fight Saturday over rent money.

Smith says bond was set for Williams on the murder charge during an appearance in Jones County Justice Court.

Williams is being held in the county jail. No trial date has been set.

It was unclear whether Williams has an attorney.
